Outdoor Hardscape

Copings, Steps, Custom Details

A large-scale outdoor hardscape program for a U.S. contractor in Florida, executed across 10+ containers with phased shipments. The initial brief referenced a Bardiglio-style grey marble, but for exterior wet zones we proposed a more uniform, crystalline grey stone with better durability and a lower cost profile (less “commercial name,” proven in public works). After architect approval, we secured supply, validated drawings, and kept production + shipments aligned with installation sequencing.

Key controls included: fast takeoff and executable pricing, CAD review + imperial/metric conversions, material screening with samples, finish strategy for slip/wet performance, piece-list change tracking, packing list verification vs drawings, crate mapping by install order, and container-weight compliance as scope evolved.

Principle: deliver install-ready crates—not loose material—so the crew can keep pace on site with fewer surprises.

Material Optimization (Exterior Performance)

Pricing logic

Packing Lists + Crate Logic + Weight Planning

CAD Review + Imperial/Metric Conversions

Outcome
Phased shipments stayed aligned with site sequencing. The material optimization delivered a cleaner, more consistent grey aesthetic while reducing exterior risk compared to Bardiglio-style marbles. Crate labeling and weight planning reduced last-minute rebooking and on-site friction, protecting schedule and finish consistency at install.

How do you approach a new request?

We start with a structured scope review. Drawings (PDF/DWG), unit system (imperial/metric), thicknesses, edge details, tolerances, quantities, and delivery target. If anything is unclear, we issue a short clarification list before pricing — so the quote remains executable through production, packing, and export.

How do you manage stone selection and consistency?
How do you make sure shipments arrive install-ready?
